What clothing is recommended for participants?

Dirt & mud are on the menu during this buffet of jumping and crawling through obstacles. You will be dirty and sweaty so wear clothes or a costume that you don’t care about getting dirty. Running shoes that offer a lot of support will also be very important when negotiating obstacles.

What if I want to wear a costume / run in boots / etc.?

There is no problem with wearing crazy costumes or any type of foot wear on the course, just remember that your outfit must not be a hazard to yourself or your ability to negotiate any obstacle.  It must not harm or interfere with any other participant in the race.  Please consider the weather this time of year and your physical state of health when making a decision on what to wear for race day.

Keep in mind that your chip timer works best if attached to your shoes.

I’m not in good shape.  Can I do this?

Just finishing the 24/7 Challenges is an accomplishment in itself.  Consider your health and physical ability and pace yourself accordingly.  You should consult your physician prior to training and prior to participation in the race to insure you are in good health to participate in the Full or Half version of the Superhero Challenge.

Is The 24/7 Superhero Obstacle Course Challenge safe?

There are inherent risks involved in participating in an event such as an obstacle course race, which is why every participant signs a waiver. This waiver is a legal disclaimer stating the participant assumes all responsibility for all medical expenses incurred as a result of training before the event starts and/or participating in the 24/7 Superhero Obstacle Course Challenge, including but not limited to hospitalization, ambulance transportation or physician services. Each participant is responsible for due diligence and care to negotiate the course within their own abilities. Ultimately the safety of every participant is of the upmost importance, so if a participant feels an obstacle has become unsafe or they are injured, it is the responsibility of the participant to inform a course official. EMS personnel and an ambulance will be onsite in case of an emergency.  If a medical practitioner’s opinion is given concerning a participant’s inability to continue the race, their decision is final and the participant must immediately end his or her participation in the race.

What divisions are there?

The 24/7 challenge has the following divisions for men and women:

14-19
  45-49
20-24
  50-59
25-29   60-69
30-34   70+
35-39    Teams of 4 runners
40-44

Please note every wave will consist of people from every age division.  You may register for any available wave regardless of your age.

How long will I have to celebrate my Superhero accomplishment?

Beer will be served and music will be played until we have to leave or we run out of beer and/or food.

*Cash only*

Do I need to be able to swim to accept the 24/7 challenge?

No, but it does help if you want to place in your age division.  Most water obstacles are no more than 4 feet in depth.

What if it’s raining on race day?

Rain or Shine the race will go on.  Only lightning can postpone our race but as soon as it passes, it’s on!  24/7 Superhero races reserve the right to delay or cancel the race due to hazardous weather conditions or a disaster, in the interest of participant safety.

Can I bring my own water to drink on the course?

Yes, you can but there will be water stations located on both courses to keep you hydrated on your journey.

How long are the courses?

The Full 24/7 course is 7 miles and the Half version is 3.5 miles.  If a safety hazard presents itself before the race starts due to any circumstance, such as floods or wind, 24/7 race coordinators reserve the right to adjust the distance of either race in the interest of participant safety.

How can I get The 24/7 Superhero Obstacle Course Challenge to come to my area?

Just shoot use an Email and request it.   trini@247superhero.com

Can I run as a team?

Yes!  When registering, just click on team registration and enter each runner’s name.  Each team consists of 4 Superheroes.

How do I train for the 24/7 challenge?

Specific training for whatever event you are going to compete in is the most efficient way to get prepared for that event.  You would not train for a weight lifting contest by running long distances would you?   Obstacle course races are comprised of mostly pushing and pulling of your own body weight.  Practice exercises that involve these types of activities such as pull-ups, low crawling around 15 yards, and push-ups.

How will I know my time and place in my division?

24/7 is utilizing a professional company for chip timing. Chip timing from ChampionChip will be used at our race. This system is the most advanced timing system in the world. It has state of the art technology with a chip the size of a quarter that is tied on the shoe or strapped on the ankle with a neoprene band. This chip technology registers in our system every time it crosses the specially designed ground mats.  This means that wherever you are standing when your wave starts will not matter because your time does not start until you cross the specially designed ground mat. We will get results virtually as soon as you cross the finish line, then we will be able to print those results a short time later that day for viewing.

Can I get a refund?

We start to incur costs from the moment you enter one of our races. Directly before an event, your entry fee has already been spent or committed to suppliers. For example, we pay a fee to collect an entry fee securely online. We also reserve items for the event day such as fencing and secure emergency personnel for your safety. If a flexible refund/transfer system were put into place for those who decide not to run the race at any point in time, then the event would collapse financially.

If I cannot have a refund, can I give my race entry to someone else?

Unfortunately, no.  This can cause huge problems if entries are changed around. We must have accurate information on everyone who is competing in the race.  Otherwise, there will be a domino effect in the race, prize giving, results, etc.  Most importantly, this could invalidate any insurance that is in place to protect you.

How can I volunteer?

Please go to our home page, look for the volunteer tab and press it.  We really need your help to make this a great event and allow for a better contribution to our charity.  Don’t forget, you get a free shirt, free lunch, and lots of fun. Volunteer Now

What if a Supervillan gets the best of me on a certain obstacle?  Must I first conquer the obstacle to continue?

Our Supervillan themed obstacles can be intimidating so we understand if you feel you must avoid an obstacle.  Please note that doing so will disqualify you from receiving any prizes, but defeating that Supervillans obstacle in next year’s 24/7 race will be a great goal.  Remember your safety is priority.

I’m in a band and would love to play at a 24/7 event.  How can we sign up?

Send us an Email at trini@247superhero.com and we will get back to you.

How do I know if I am entered in the race?

When you register online, you will receive a confirmation by email.

Can my child compete?

24/7 Superhero Challenge is only open to participants 14 years old and older.

For any participant under 18 years old on race day, the parent or guardian must be present during packet pick-up to sign a waiver and release for you.  If your parent is unable to be present at packet pick-up to sign the waiver, please download the waiver, get a parent’s signature, and bring it with you on race day.
